Yes. Besides glue and sharp pins, catheters make cages truly inescapable.

Too easy to escape without a catheter. (I've got quite a few).

Just try 😂

Recently I bought two flat cages with catheter. One cage with a "lock button" another one is inverted. This is something I can recommend.

(Non-affiliated links, because Ali does not allow such stuff in the program 😕)

Another suggestion is the remotely controlled cages (see my post above).

And, yes, glue 😉

I am a shower, so the negative chastity will not work for me. Even with the catheter.
Also, in some of these cages, the spacing between the ring and the cage is non-adjustable, so that can cause some problems.
I do have one cage that uses an Allen screw as opposed to a cheap lock. I can make that adjustable by adding a few washers or spacers. Also, if you’re worried about it moving around, the catheter will prevent that.
Now, the catheter that I use, is a solid metal tube about 2 inches long, and a plastic, about 3 inches long. That’s just about enough to touch the prostate, but not touch it.
With that setup, there is no way you’ll ever get out of that. And, if you’re thinking about that Allen screw, the cage has a shield for a lock. So, you’ll need to undo the lock, unscrew the bolt then remove the catheter to get free.
And you, the catheter is fat enough to pretty much seal for clean piss to get through without making a mess.

That might be a problem, because it might not fit "the inside". E.g. even 7mm is problematic for my case. I did manage to get 8mm once, though, with a lot of efforts and a bit of pain...
Sorry, I don’t mean fat enough for the whole urethra. Towards the tip of the penis there is a muscle, for me, about 3/4 inch inside that can only stretch so much.
The catheter that I have is one that I got on eBay that works with a chastity cage. But it’s also tapered, so it’s about 1/4 inch where the tube starts, and expands to about 1/2 inch at the cage.
What this does is to seal, to a point, that the urine will flow through the tube and not leak at the tip of the penis. And the harder you get, the tighter the seal.

That’s what I was trying to explain.

Aha! 1/4 sounds very reasonable!
