I loaded that link with some pretty low expectations.  And honestly, you could not pay me enough to buy any of the flash drives or memory cards advertised there: that sort of item is awfully liable to be bricked out of the box if it's at the low end of the price scale.  Ask me how I know.  😟


But there are other items there that are very tempting.  The high current USB-3 charging cables in particular.

I just developed a serious need for those last, when I spent about 120 bucks to sharply upgrade my hand flashlights and headlamps.  All driven by 18650 lithium cells, of course, with emitters capable of 1200 lumens at max.

If you haven't taken a close look at what's happened to flashlight tech in the last decade, you're in for a sweet surprise.  None of my new lights cost me more then about $35/unit, but they ALL have voltage regulators that keeps the voltage across the emitter leads constant no matter what the precise status of the battery charge is.  So the level of emitted light remains essentially constant at any given setting, throughout almost the entire charge cycle of the battery.  Nice!

The hand flashlights measure less than 5 inches stem to stern, but they emit far more light than the Maglight dinosaur I retired a couple of decades back, and with much higher flexibility in use: anywhere from "moonlight" to their blinding 1200 lumen max output. Sadly, the manufacturer (Wukkos) had to  install a 90 second drop-down to 600 lumens at the 1200 lumen setting. I'm not complaining.  At the 1200 lumen setting, the aluminum around the emitter grew hot to the touch after only 20 seconds!

A couple of hints if you're interested: the r/flashlight and r/battery subreddits are treasure troves. Start your research there.

But all these new lamps need USB3-USB3 high current charging cables if you're charging them from USB-3 "wall wart" AC-DC converters, and my current inventory of USB3-USB3 charging cables is essentially zero.


Oh, and give the hex wrenches a look.  And the miniature prybars, which the last 50 years have taught me to respect as general purpose hand tools of enormous flexibility, if made from the right steel.

Dunno, I bought a 2TB SATA SSD years ago -it's still working (There is a link somewhere in the forums.) ... It, actually, saved my whole mirror setup, when the NVMEs began to shut down because of the low power.
