It did have a problem, because the side where it is supposed to be fixed to the base was not well fixed. Squeezing with some plyers helped out though. A second one that came from China did not have that problem but clearly I did not shop around very well because it was much more expensive than the ones you point to. RE: Electric time lock padlocks - Like Ra - 07 Jun 2019 Not quite a time-lock, but a mobile phone controllable one. The prices are finally getting lower Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gswQy3Sp9oE Review: https://www.fabianbr.de/blog/gadgets-gizmos/bozzyspadlock/ RE: Electric time lock padlocks - kbzlace - 08 Jun 2019 I got two of those black timer locks. They are really good, I use them on a lockable box to lock away all my real keys to the pad locks for the wear on my body. I keep the timer locks attached to a USB charger all the time, so I do not have to worry about battery life. That way I can use the max timer setting of 99 hours. I did not know about the reset function, thanks @essanym for ruining the fun 😉 RE: Electric time lock padlocks - Zooy - 08 Jun 2019 (07 Jun 2019, 23:47 )Like Ra Wrote: Not quite a time-lock, but a mobile phone controllable one. It's not unlike when I reprogrammed the wifi switches I bought. I haven't bought this to try it but I probably will at some point. Now it's a time-lock with a random function, and Bluetooth/app functionality is completely removed. They also "fixed" the other lock: https://www.etsy.com/listing/696140517/modified-lcd-time-lock-padlock-escape?ref=reviews Quote:This is modified regular china LCD lock. I think this can be DIYed. It's only plastic. The locking mechanism will erode with use and at some point it won't lock at all. It's also very easy to break it. RE: Electric time lock padlocks - krinlyc - 09 Jun 2019 All these locks are pretty weak -- have a quick search at youtube .... RE: Electric time lock padlocks - Like Ra - 09 Jun 2019 Everything can be broken, provided there is enough energy and time 😁 The trick is "the adequate application" 😉 My idea for such locks is the following: o- tie yourself up (except the arms) o- get in a latex or lycra sack (with or without hood, you must be able to zip yourself up while inside the sack) o- use one time lock between the collar and a stationary object (e.g a bed) o- and another time padlock between cuffs (hands behind the back). With two locks engaged you can't either use your hands to undo the bonds, or get off the bed and get to a knife or any other tool. Also, it should be very difficult to apply enough force in the correct direction to break the locks. |
