Beeing able to be pregnant or impregnating isnt connected to beeing either M or F. Plenty of cis (aka not -trans) people not able to breed or be bred RE: General TG, TS, TV and sex change thread - Telia - 22 Apr 2023 (14 Feb 2018, 23:21 )Like Ra Wrote: Seriously, trying to find something "truly feminine" I started thread Femininity. RE: General TG, TS, TV and sex change thread - Tinker D - 22 Apr 2023 Are you talking about a push on / push off switch or a Rocker switch ? You go back to pre-WW2 dictionaries and (paraphrasing) it's like this:(17 Aug 2023, 15:00 )Like Ra Wrote: "Sex is between the legs. Gender is between the ears".^It's insane how few people, from allies to enemies of transgenderism, understand this differentiation. Webster 1913 for example (just the easiest one I could find, I'm certain I've seen ones closer to 40s/50s era too): https://www.websters1913.com/words/Gender So it's quite possible that someone who opposes transgenderism is also using an older definition of the word too, and (this being a culture war thing) is refusing to adopt your definition as a matter of principle. It's like how the definition of "gay" changed. As an aside, look at katplanchette on the last page talk about "transphobia". That's another redefinition, because a "phobia" is, strictly speaking, an irrational fear, but it's being used in place of mis- or -misia, i.e. hatred, dislike, or aversion. Misogyny = hatred of women, misandry = hatred of men, so transmisia would be *hatred* of trans people. If you think anti-gay-rights or anti-trans people *fear* gays or whatever then you're laughably wrong. It's disgust or hatred they feel. I think it was Steven Pinker who did a whole thing on how socially conservative people (I don't know about others like libertarians) have a much stronger disgust reflex, for want of a better term, than left-wing people. Point is, they literally think AND feel differently to you at a very deep level. Bonus: this is why you should support the repealing of Roe vs Wade, whether you think abortion is murder, or reproductive health, or whatever. Because if the people in Washington D.C. get to decide policy on that for the ENTIRE country, then only one side can be the victor - and Trump & the current Supreme Court has clearly shown that it's not a one-way street in terms of endless left-wing victories. So you have two options: 1. A constant fight to control policy for the entire country, whereby the losing side believes it is being unjustly oppressed by the winning side. Golly gee gosh, I sure hope there's no precedent for what might happen if this doesn't self-correct (insert meme of Alex Jones "1776 will commence again!" here)... 2. A compromise whereby the people who literally think & feel differently to you do their thing in their part of the country, and you do your thing in your part. Which might suck if you want an abortion and are deep in rural Texas, but at least you HAVE legal options vs e.g. what happens if a federal ban on abortion were to pass. |
