I was previously on retroShare but during the process of replacing my dying laptop with a new one, I lost retroShare on my new laptop. I think I have it working now but I won't know for sure until I get some friends. The following is my certificate.

It's not all on my laptap yet but it will be (It's on a backup drive). If anybody is interested, I have a lot of high quality recordings of music. About 285 albums worth. The music is generally from the 60s, 70s, and classical. I also have complete sets of Bach and Mozart which adds about another 200 albums.

It seemed to be working but when I quit retroShare, I received an error message every time I tried to restart it. 😟 I had to get rid of retroShare and re-install it, this time with everything set up correctly. When I quit retroShare and restart it, now everything appears fine. But the above certificate is no longer good. Any audiophile types will appreciate quality recordings of music. Having quality recordings essentially eliminates everything recorded in the last 20-25 years with the exception of classical music. Unfortunately I'm not exaggerating. The poor recording quality is why I haven't bought any non-classical music recorded in the last 25 years and I know others who have also stopped buying music for the same reason. It just isn't worth it. The primary culprit is "dynamic range compression" which is sometimes referred to as "the loudness wars." I view it as a crime against music. Note: Some cell phones have dynamic range compression built in. Listening to the above on such a device will destroy the effect it is intended to demonstrate. So if you can't hear the difference on your cell phone, try something else. If you have listened only to music recorded in the last 20 years, then this travesty has been committed on every piece of recorded music you have ever heard. This doesn't effect live performances but any recordings you have listened to in the last 20+ years do not do justice to how that particular band really sounds regardless of what you listen to. Fortunately there are some signs in the last few years that the loudness wars may be finally easing. I can't wait until dynamic range compression gets thrown in the trash heap where it belongs. Sorry for the rant that may be a little off topic but this is a real peeve of mine.
