An icon from my youth, Lynda Carter always wore lovely shiny tights. Even in the first CBS series set in WWII with the 'Briget Jones' knicks she wore what look very much like 'toast' Danskins (except they have a squarish gusset if you look closely). Maybe Danskins were like that back in the seventies when the series was shot...

When the series moved to ABC it was set in the seventies and the costume was updated to be higher cut. The photography also became a bit more risque.

If it was indeed Danskin, I like the progress they have made in .. how many? 40 years? Wow... Not bad for "40 years ago". Look at the swimsuit/leotard - it's not tight at all (no lycra-like fibre?) But the tights are wrinklelessly tight.

There was of course also the Wonder Wet-Suit, personally I prefer the Series 2 version

           

to the Series 3 one...the missing white top to the 'boots' just looks wrong to me.

           

Incidentally, it seems Diana Prince was so fond of her shiny tights she even wore them for swimming, playing tennis and going to the sauna

Also, while we're talking about Wonder Woman. In the original comic up up and through the 70s, her weakness was bondage!

She was deemed completely powerless when any "man" bound her hands together. Of course a lot of that plays into the sexism in comics at the time, and that weakness is no longer used, but it's an interesting concept 😉

William Moulton Marston, Wonder Woman's creator was open about the bondage elements from the start. As early as 1943-44 he wrote:

The only hope for peace is to teach people who are full of pep and unbound force to enjoy being bound... Only when the control of self by others is more pleasant than the unbound assertion of self in human relationships can we hope for a stable, peaceful human society... Giving to others, being controlled by them, submitting to other people cannot possibly be enjoyable without a strong erotic element"

Later he wrote of male Wondie fans:

"Give them an alluring woman stronger than themselves to submit to, and they'll be proud to become her willing slaves!"

Incidentally,when not creating Wonder Woman Marston gained a PhD in Psychology at Harvard, invented the basis of the polygraph 'lie detector' and lived iin a 'menage a trois' with his wife and his ex-student Olive Byrne (who became the model fror Wondie) O.o

I bought the Season 1, 2 and 3 of Wonder Woman DVD set. I like her outfits and her smile in every last scene of the episode. The show looks a bit dated, but worth to watch.

Wonder Woman was my very inspiration for crossdressing and play the role of a Superheroine. She was my idol, and at my early 13 years old, U just wanted desperately to have her dress. The shops were selling at that time a kind of costume for the little girls, so I suffered for not daring to ask my parents to buy one for me....
A couple of years after, just for my 15, I bought my OWN ultra high cut leotard, thong back, a pair of Danskin pantyhose and there it was...
Could you kindly post more pictures of Wonder Girl? She also wore the shiny pantyhose, but it was nice to see her chloroformed ( and breast touched) by evil villains.... mmmm!!!
