My bridge arrived for the padlock I wrote about in other threads. It does exactly as advertised, I can now use WiFi to control the padlock. Unfortunately no functionality was added so it's still not possible to add the opening of the lock to any kind of home automation flow as you would a smart light bulb for example. So the automating of the actual unlocking is still done by the Automate app on my phone going through the motions.
So since I have the lock on WiFi now my next step will be exploring options like this: https://pypi.org/project/tinytuya/ ,where I will try to see if the padlock lets itself control by Python script from a laptop or Raspberry Pi.
