General time-lock thread

General discussion on any locking devices, which can be electronically controlled either remotely or by timers.

This is what I found today in Ali:

You can make them even more useful and have them come apart. To do that, force them apart while they are open - pull and twist while the bar is at an angle close to when the lock is closed. Then file down the front part of the retaining ring on the bar (see image) so it can pop out on its own the next time. To keep the spring where it's supposed to be, put a drop of glue in along with it.

   

Thoughts?

Glue and lock.
Sounds like a winning combination to me.
