I tried string and many types of rope. Even chain.
You do need weight. Even a thin thread will keep a pair of keys in the air if the ice melts all the way. Seen it happen many times.

Hello All.
- The strong is enought, no need to do more. I tried to separate the part (beeing untied), i pull very hard and i can't. - 3 ours of game for a 15 cm long and 3 cm diameter. - It's just to keep the paddlock key out of reach, not to lock my hand. Kiss to all.
