Less of an issue with this one ... not really viable for joined near the hips long term wear 😉 
The original "get-along" cages were metal.... there are "perma-lock" bits that would fit both, you need a drill to remove them.

To be safe, it is probably best with three people (one to be a overseer/teaser/dom(me)) especially if the teasing gets intensive... those bits can be under a lot of pull stress with intensive squirming or falling over if not on lying down on a bed/floor.... Both having straps around the waist and thighs together is probably a good idea with these and would feel cozy (along with tied arms, ankles, a dual ball-gag & two plugs attached with taut elastic material and various other things... yes, I have thought about it way too much 🤷🏻‍♀️ ).
