Cangue for self-bondage?

I found this video recently, where a girl uses a neck-to-hands metal cangue device and locks herself into it:

As you can see from the video, using the right technique, she can push the locking pin from the bottom to the top, effectively giving her access to the pin padlock hole and securing the device with a padlock from the top. I find this technique quite intriguing and was wondering if this could be used realistically done for SB.

For example, lock the device as in the video. Put the key for the padlock under a timer-lock box (a box what opens up only after a timer is reached). Put another key as a backup in, say, a glass full of paint (so if you pull out that key, you'll make a mess in your room, definitively to be used only as an emergency release mechanism).

I'm curious about what the community here would think about this technique? Now, trying to get the key into the lock might be a challenge, as your hands don't have a lot of flexibility to hold the padlock in place for you to push the key in, but it seems doable to me.

Interesting use of the usb electronic padlock, no need for a key, but hitting the correct release button, wearing gloves is not easy, but I like the idea of the method.

 Yeah, I have 2 of those electronic locks. However, I would not use one of then to lock the cangue device (like in the video), for the simple reason that if the lock fails, you're in trouble. Ultimately, these are cheap electronics and I think the risk is too high.

I once had 1 of my 2 electronic locks fail on me. Its battery died. They don't have a battery indicator. I have 2 of those locks because I use them to lock my leather wrist cuffs (so I can't take the cuffs off), and use a chain and normal padlocks to secure my cuffs together. So if 1 padlock fails (like this one did), I still have the other one running and if that one fails too, I have my emergency backup (the key for the real padlocks is somewhere accessible).

Therefore I'd prefer to use this cangue device with a real padlock, and secure its key with an electronic lock or some other form. The tricky thing will probably be to insert the key into the padlock with your hands in such a position. I guess I'll need to buy myself one of those devices and carefully experiment a little.

They are not cheap, I've had a quick look and anything from £50 to £150 seems the norm here in the UK.

They break easy enough. I've got two of them also and accidentally broke one of them while spread eagle using one arm while struggling a bit. If someone was intentionally trying to get out of a failed lock, just grab the body of it and twist it until it pops loose.

Had a thought, rather than use a padlock when alone and using one of these for self-bondage, you do really need to have an escape option, why not exchange the bolt for the padlock, with a proper bolt and nut or wingnut so you can fasten the Cangue and when your session is ended, perhaps timed by the Self Bondage Motion program, you can undo the nut allowing the bolt to drop out.
