I've signed up today mostly for this topic. I have had multiple ideas over the years for machine controlled sessions mixed in with self bondage but was never much use with a soldering iron. I had pretty much given up on ever actually building my "evil computer" until I got reading about Arduino. I think I'll give it a go.
