That's spine crashing!!!

I've always wondered, what is the limit of what could be considered 'safe'? I mean, how many degrees can a regular spine can withstand before entering the critical zone?

This is a big concern of mine, since I'm always trying to push my limits (not as extreme as in the pictures of course), but I don't want to find what the breaking point of my spine is. I tend to follow the rule: if it hurts, stop pushing, however pain is very subjective and not a good measure of how far back you can reach.
