An original 1970s Wonder Woman costume is for auction. - Culmor - 09 Apr 2025

You might know how much I love Lynda Carter’s 1970s Wonder Woman costumes, particularly the one she wore in the second and third (CBS) series. I’ve just seen that the original pieces are being offered for sale by Julien's Auctions  and these are the estimates:

Bodysuit, belt and bracelets $100-200K
Tiara & earrings $20-30K
Lasso $20-30K
Boots $20-30K
SFX prototype doll $4-6K

I think I'll keep to my replica.

Note to MJ, they’re not offering Lynda's cape!

I bet all the elastic parts of the bodysuit dusted decades ago. Or the suit was made out of cotton or wool...

I don't think the suit ever was elastic, just satin tailored to fit. It never appeared to stretch in the program leading to some interesting near-malfunctions.

Satin, indeed!

Well that's ruined it for me!

I'd been saving up all my loose change, booked a telephone line to bid, and now you tell be the outfit is incomplete!

I shall immediately withdraw from the auction!

See, I knew that'd be the deal-breaker! There's nothing like feeling the big star-spangled satin cape in the old red, white and blue swishing around your legs!

Oh, and the bracelets bundled with the bodysuit aren't totally authentic to the show either. My first thought was 'I'd never noticed they had a hammered finish' but reading the auctioneers description it says they're not the screen-used versions.

The genuine second/third series Wondie boots that are on offer v the ones Greg Maraio used to sell. It pains me to say it but I think his are hotter, apart from anything else I like the extra height their heels give me.

Of course most Wondie cosplayers wear the cheap, chunky red and white PVC gogo boots that are available everywhere. I was once asked if I was going to get a pair of the 'pvc/rubber' ones, bleuch! Bad
