How to download Twitter videos - Like Ra - 09 Apr 2023
After Elon broke Twitter API (https://www.likera.com/forum/mybb/Thread-Site-performance-Server-errors-outages-and-tunings?pid=66312#pid66312) all usual methods of downloading (and embedding) videos stopped working. Does anybody know any tricks that can be used now?

For downloading, https://twittervideodownloader.com/download seems to work (until Musk "moves fast and breaks things" ... again).
It will give you the URL to the video file if you click on "Download" after your link has been processed. From there, you can right-click and "save as..."
Just tested with a post from Guisi and it resulted in this link

As for embedding, I guess that is heavily API dependent and hard to circumvent as long as API require a hefty monthly fee.
I expect them to backpaddle on that decision though, that was such a moronic move that the repercussions should even be felt by Musk, it will just take some time to fester enough to be noticed by him.

Gallery-dl can do this for all media on a twitter page. Its a great little tool and supports a bunch of places.
