I could write a paper on why that's a gross oversimplification. By which I mean this thread makes it obvious the time, effort and moneyĀ I've put into replicating Cher's most iconic costume but... I don't want to be a drag queen. I have too muchĀ respect for women to consider parodying them. It's... complicated.

'All drag queens want to dress as Cher'Ā (if it were true) wouldn'tĀ equal 'Everyone who wants to dress as Cher is a drag queen'.Ā I'd even argue that many stageĀ male Cher impersonators aren't drag queens, at least in the RuPaul sense. I suspect it comes down to whether you're trying to be as accurate as possible (almost a cosplay)Ā or performing a parody (drag).

Something that appeared on my radar. A professionalĀ costume company, established for forty-something years are offering a made-to-measureĀ 'Turn Back Time' costume on their website for Ā£150. Dear God.
