RE: Favourite, interesting or "playing now" music - Like Ra - 30 Sep 2018 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_Hakim http://omarhakim.com/ Looks like he played with everybody from Miles Davis to Madonna 😁 And yes, he's so relaxed, he's always having fun, and he does not age 😁 And look at the teachers: Quote:His father’s friendship with John Coltrane enabled young Omar to spend time with Elvin Jones and Art Blakey, and at age 11 he studied with Clyde Lucas, master technician and Count Basie big band drummer. ( Coltrane once said that sometimes he does not understand how it's possible to play with Elvin 😁 ) RE: Favourite, interesting or "playing now" music - Zooy - 30 Sep 2018 About the John Adams 'the dharma at big sur' (i tried several times the reply and edit but keep loosing the text); All I have is a Nonesuch CD: 7559-79857-2. Tracy Silverman, electric violin, BBC symphony orchestra and John Adams himself conducting. It is one giant buildup of 26 minutes. If you let it take you, you will be wasted in the end. Same notes, completely different interpretations. Some of which are not even close to each other. And I love Indian classical music 😉 RE: Favourite, interesting or "playing now" music - Tinker D - 01 Oct 2018 (30 Sep 2018, 07:34 )franz löve Wrote: Hello, good morning,I love the robot. |
