faux-leather straight-jacket in self-bondage? - Strappado - 04 Nov 2017

Here is the latest addition to my collection of restraints:

https://www.amazon.de/ZWANGSJACKE-Kunstleder-Bondage-Straitjacket-verschlie%C3%9Fbar/dp/B0755XP7HL/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509744083&sr=8-1&keywords=weiche+ZWANGSJACKE+aus+Kunstleder

I want to make a few photos eventually, but so far just plain text.

The material is soft pu-coated polyester, about 1/2 mm thick, inside dull white, outside burgundy red (there were various colours, when I ordered). There is the typical smell, which probably fades after a while, but I like it anyway. The straps are the weakest parts, being cheap split leather. However, most straps aren't under much stress, so they should last quite a while. And the straps between the mittens can be replaced fairly easily, because they are attached to D-rings. The others are riveted to support straps, which should pose no trouble to any leatherworker (replacement). And all straps studded to a reinforcement strap looks like a very good idea. Workmanship is good, all seams look fine, and the jacket is actually designed like a real jacket with added kink. Worn back to front, and with open sleeves, it should look quite nice. The back is closed with straps, the fabric is extra long, so there is a double layer underneath the straps. This means, that the jacket is completely closed and actually quite warm. The sleeves are just long enough for me, so if you are taller than 183cm or have relatively long arms, they are short. This applies to the arms fully stretched to the sides. In proper straight-jacket position, the sleeves are longer (or rather, the shoulders are closer together). The jacket is designed to fit size S - L, which, I think, refers to womens sizes.

A quick note about wearing and escaping a simple straight jacket: After putting it on, you connect the mittens with a strap, with enough slack to get the strap over your head and down the back. If there is an additional arm belt on the front (this jacket has one), you have to wiggle your arms to one side, until the connecting strap is at this arm belt (instead of both wrists / forearms). Then you need to manipulate this arm belt. If you can't, better don't use it. Escaping works exactly the same way, just in reverse order. You could also cross your arms in front of your feet, step through the strap and work it up to your back. But this would require a longer strap, the strap will push on your belly and still feel quite lose...

I got the jacket yesterday and tried it on as soon as possible. I actually tried it on back to front first, so I could adjust the back belts to the width of my torso. I don't think, it is possible to adjust these belts while wearing the jacket, because the sleeve length restricts my arms to move back - might be possible for people with shorter arms. Anyway, prepared like this, the jacket went on well in the correct way too. I checked in the mirror and re-adjusted some straps, then put it on again. It went on like a pullover Most straps are now as short as possible. I only had trouble attaching the crotch straps, because the buckles are hard to reach and it is quite difficult to do fine finger-work through the mittens. I had even tried to attach the straps first, put on the jacket and then step through, but that was impossible. Well, straight jackets are made for long-term restraining, so it doesn't matter so much, it putting them on takes a while.

With arms restraint, it feels great! Very snug fit, no bondage-like compression of limbs or even nerves, a bit like a torso-mummification. I think, this jacket can be comfortable for hours. I cannot tighten the front belt enough to stop my hands from slipping through, so it is not exactly a secure restraint, but it is very restraining nevertheless. If you like it secure, you can lock the front belt. You might have to lock the mittens-belt too, because it might be possible to reach the buckel, which is quite close to one side. With these belts secure and the crotch straps on, you should not be able to get out. I spent quite a while in the straight jacket and enjoyed every moment. I think, this toy is worth every cent of its price.

Taking off the jacket isn't that easy. Removing the restraints is, but it sticks to the sides of my torso and so I have to wiggle a lot and pull on the sleeves. I think, it takes about a minute or so. Now, that I know, where it sticks, I know better, where to pull, so I might get faster in future...

I'm not sure if I understood it correctly... Did you manage to wear it front to back, or, in other words, with your arms behind your back?

No, I think, this would be almost impossible. By "wearing" I mean don't mean "restrain", which is the next step. I have worn the jacket the standard way, as shown in the first picture on amazon, and I have worn it back to front, without tieing the arms.

As I forgot a direct answer to the question in the title, here it comes:

Yes, self-bondage is possible in this straight-jacket. If you want it secure, use padlocks and ice-timer.

As (I think) I mentioned before, it is quite difficult to take off the jacket because it sticks to the skin. In the meantime, I am wearing a spandex body or something similar underneath, which helps a lot, even without arms. Pictures will be on the way sometimes soon.

So far, I have explored the obvious possibilities of the jacket for self-bondage. Operating the buckles is difficult, some on the back cannot be reached. But I have set the back-straps to the proper length (shortest) and I am getting better at closing the crotch straps. I used to close the arm strap in front of me, then wiggle it backwards around my head. It has to be fairly lose for that. But I have replaced it with a belt with a ring-buckle (just like the ring-device). Now, it is easy to pull it tight, once in place. And there is a release method too: I have attached a string to the lower ring. Pulling the string releases the belt. In theory, it should be possible to lift the ring by pushing it against a corner, but I haven't tried that yet. With the new belt, it is much easier to tie the arms behind the back.

I know, that many of you like inescapable but timed bondage. So here is a way: The jacket has a ring on the collar. If you manage to use the front strap around your wrists, you can use it to keep you away from any helping edges or other devices to undo that strap (and you will need one, if it is tight enough and properly closed).
