Not all files work for everybody. Also some people are very easy to hypnotise while others are very hard.
In your case you will have to try several files and hope that at a given moment one of them starts having some effect. If you read the threads about hypnosis here you will also find that many people have to listen to the same file many times, and then suddenly it starts working.
My first language is also not English, but that makes no difference (to me at least). The important thing is that you understand what is said. Again: that becomes easier when you listen many times to the same file. It is like when you listen to a song and you do not understand the words. After a few times you start picking them up.

Also, you may find you have to do some trance training files before you move on to real effects. If this is a recent thing for you, I recommend just looking up trance training/inductions/deepeners on places like Warp My Mind and Youtube.
