Need some ideas about handcuffs - demselindistress - 13 Aug 2014

Hi,
I'm new to selfbondage, but i really like it especially hogtie. I imagined some technique that would be awesome, but i need a handcuff for all of them but i really haven't have that much money for it. Maybe ~40 USD but i live in europe so i need one which i can buy in EU. I hope somebody can help me with it.

(btw sorry for my english)

A good substitute for handcuffs would be a wrist coil and a tie wrap. Or a wrist coil and cinch rope with an SRD. As always play it safe and provide 2 different ways out. Ice locks are simple and fun to make ( if you are in to making your own gear). As for handcuffs if you get some buy the best you can get and buy them "oversized". The ones with the keyhole in the center are more easy to get out of (IMHO)
Also get and keep extra keys handy. I can relate a story where I was secured in a partial suspension where I had no leverage to move my body and my restraint started to slip putting pressure on my neck. I was able to get my first hand free from the cuffs and get safe. The key broke off in the second cuff. I had to cut the cuff off of my wrist with a hack saw. Double check everything. Test and be sure of what you are doing and what the result will be before you secure yourself.

Wise words from Old Timer.

Cheap handcuffs are cheap for a reason, meaning they can and do fail. That failure might be hilarious on a stag/hen night, embarrassing with a partner, but fatal on your own!

Why not consider using some leather wrist cuffs combined with SRD or even a quality padlock (spare keys to hand or even some quality shears to cut the leather - just in case) - they are much more comfortable than handcuffs and available from lots of stores on eBay and the internet.

Something else to avoid, hinged cuffs. Their use has been discontinued by some police forces as it's all too easy to accidentally (ahem) break someone's wrist with them.
