Other than punishing the contenders with a heavy thrusting, it's somewhat simple. Not very fun if one side is stronger than the other.
I'd prefer the system being all connected by the wrists and ankles so when one of the sides applies some tension both get punished.
e.g. one side applies tension (from exhaustion of that extreme position), then the hands and legs of the other side get pulled out, immediately punishing them into the plug. That in consequence results in the punished side applying tension back to the other side, so they also get punished. All resulting in a seesaw motion that eventually balances out 'resetting' the system. Pretty much like in a perpetual motion toy.

i kind of like the doll suit.
