RE: Hair removal - Techniques & reviews - Zooy - 08 Aug 2024

My personal experience is:
On my legs with epilation. After almost a year, hardly any hairs grew back. This is aeady many years, and I hardly ever have to maintain it.
On my arms it doesn't work nearly as well. I mix between epilaton and shaving with an electric razor.
On my breast I tried epilation, which did not work very well. Then I bought one laser machine, but that did not work at all. Apparently my hair is too light in color. I use now a mix of the razor and the epilator.
On the goodies, the electric razor does a reasonable job, but it needs to be redone very frequently and very carefully. I have used a cream a few times, which makes it very smooth, but you cannot use it too often, according to the manual.

It is amazing how fast body hair can grow back.

Do not buy expensive epilators! I had/have top of the line ones, and they still fall behind the devices from Lidl, or bottom of the lines from 25 years ago.

Oh that's very helpful information, thank you! I would've done that no doubt-

I've got Braun Sill Epil 9 (aleady broken) and Panasonic ES-DEL8A. Both are missing hairs, even long ones, what is extremely frustrating.
Braun makes you buy accessories you will never need.
Panasonic is much better in this case, because you can choose what you want. For example, I added the Foot Care Head (really great).

Still, my rusty 25yo Philips Satinelle with broken gears almost never misses a hair.

Oh wow! Now I'm wondering what I should be getting to avoid that sort of fate-
(Other than a 25 yo Philips Santinelle of course!)

Philips do actually still sell a Santinelle I just checked https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-Satinelle-Essential-Compact-Epilator/dp/B07PQDW44P/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3LJY2IB4YJ20K&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.WfQ6z6oqCB74CrnlNMqgxJWxscJcjR-i3o1FSwmXVJORHYCSrNl-hCwalE83oNffx-vqkZc7CDwBiTtMtUit6fAoCniAaX5cytB9vock0EE3gAYdJM6NG99XNR81aQiG5udlrkro0TjZChAijptjIAl4LfvA5RNfVdTXMHVtsOT_ygFSNd7KuAvGJXndy1EIB7Wh2f28N7VaOUHtLD3MR_sq6ud1xU5X2u8Ga7sm2LaYA-8LVKOm-VfSBOPgEOrdGX1-eapj9t35ByT8ZRXVtwMzHfL3Sm4n-L0xpczH9I8.Q2Yb2svmfPLDVYmCOTWZzMuBFtPGiwgjXS8SuKWoyc0&dib_tag=se&keywords=epilator%2Bfor%2Bwomen&qid=1723130967&sprefix=epilato%2Caps%2C126&sr=8-5&th=1

I just bought a cheap one off eBay. I got lucky… it worked for 4 years before the batteries died.

I would go for something cheaper: Philips Satinelle Essential Epilator BRE224 or BRE225. You do not need those accessories.
E.g. https://www.cocooncenter.co.uk/product-reviews/philips-satinelle-essential-epilator-bre224-00/28098.html

The eBay links exist since 2012 😂
