If DHT and/or(?) "Allow RS to ask my IP" is/are allowed, then the external and internal IPs will be visible. I wasn't sure if it was normal or a misconfiguration or what. I'd hate for people to thing they're using Tor and it turns out they aren't. There's surprisingly little info for Retroshare out there. Having the official forums on Retroshare puts you in a an awkward situation. No friends, no forums. I would have never figured it all out on my own. RE: RetroShare certs - chaste4panties - 05 May 2021 (04 May 2021, 19:52 )cjtl Wrote:What format are you looking at to determine no .onion? I didn't know if you where aware or not. It looks like you aren't connecting through Tor. RE: RetroShare certs - chaste4panties - 05 May 2021 I went through the setup steps at the beginning of the forum. Even so, it wont connect correctlly stating the DHT hasn't started properly. I am not that familiar with most of the networking terminology; is there something I need to check to ensure the setup is correct? I am not that familiar with most of the networking terminology; is there something I need to check to ensure the setup is correct? It is possible I was wrong. On the status bar at the bottom there should be a green Tor icon. If you want to check more thoroughly if Tor is working, click the Preferences button and then Network section. I have a green light for Hidden mode. On the Hidden Service Configuration tab, there should be a green light for Tor outgoing Okay. There is a sub tab within there called Incoming. Push the Test button. You should get a green light for Tor Incoming OK. I have to push it twice sometimes for it to work. I didn't know if you where aware or not. It looks like you aren't connecting through Tor. Usually when adding certs I don't see an IP address. It just shows an onion address. If I mouse over it it says it's a hidden node and I need I2P/Tor to connect to it. It's been pointed out I may be wrong. I'm still a newbie to all this myself.
