True, but like you said earlier, the ones seeking out genuine help are basically in a mentally malleable position. Whereas they could just go see a trustworthy certified therapist. Yeah, costs money, but so does a no fap membership. But as with anything these days, for every "scientific" claim, there's a counter version. Still a toss up. Although, my gut feeling would have me inclined to believe the original claim indeed. RE: Your opinion on the NoFap® Movement - marioshroomed - 18 Apr 2024 I'm fully onboard with nofap. Also for religious reasons. And because I noticed I was addicted to porn. Taking all that away has made life a little bit easier. But it's still difficult because of urges. RE: Your opinion on the NoFap® Movement - MIWSTIUS - 19 Apr 2024 You know.... I'm going to go indepth here, regarding at least an aspect of the subject. What triggers this, is my friend asked me today how often my wife and I still have sex - because he basically wanted to gauge and compare that to the situation of himself and his GF. Now it happens to be that he suffers from a medical condition. As such, he barely has the energy. His GF also deals with menopause issues. My wife also deals with physical issues due to work-related stress. As a result we barely have sex, but the sexual tension and the actual love are intact, no worries. So my friend wondered how I deal with this. So here's what I told him: Thankfully there's this Lycra fetish in my life - and the way it manifests in multiple ways of outlet without harming ourr marriage. I did however note, there's possibly a narcistic aspect to this, but I'm OK with that and as far as I'm concerned narcissism is usually portrayed as an exclusively bad/evil thing - and I disagree on that. Anyway, the fetish outlets include: - Getting a kick out of wearing shiny Lycra leggings in public as part of my streetwear fits. Yeah, I'm still amused at the occasional stares. - Getting a lkick out of catching the occasional mirror or window pane reflection of my shiny toned legs makes me go "hmmm oh dear, I look so sexy". - Getting a kick out of feeling the slippery fabric as my legs occasionally slide throughout the day. - Feeling physically fit because the leggings motivate to fastwalk excercise 3/4 times per week. - And here comes the angle to the subject of the no fap movement; I do get a whole lot of masturbation out of this Lycra fetish, BUT it's 95% edging. The rest consists of the genuine climaxes when my wife teases me in bed, such as playing with my nipples. As you can see, there is no way any anti-masturbation movement or religion are going to deter me from any of the above - because it provides fullfilment in the imperfect situation that is life. For the regular non subscription subs it's a purgers' paradise as they can get the best of both worlds! nofap for how long they can take it while bragging on the sub & then succumb to your weakness go dull gooner porn addict for a day or 2 & switch back. Any other discussions about them make no sense anymore. They have a business model built around some claims, some of them are unprovable. An egregor, which feeds on sexual energy - not much different from pornhub with a claimed minus sigh in the front. If they do have a lucrative business, I can only applaud. yeah, it started a few years back on Reddit at r/nofap https://www.reddit.com/r/NoFap/ I posted one of my crazies before they had many mods & triggered a few to really really hate me ^^ (09 Apr 2024, 00:50 )Like Ra Wrote: Wow, NoFap® is a registered trademark! Nicely done!who trademarked nofap? one of us? anyways here is their ultimate Reddit guide https://www.reddit.com/r/NoFap/comments/bmqtyb/the_ultimate_guide/ Compared to our content, it's pretty weak, allowing most nofappers to purge on the go after a switch of browser profiles. RE: Your opinion on the NoFap® Movement - Lancer - 03 Jun 2024 Huh I thought I would have commented on this thread. May as well throw in my 2 cents since I have seen them around quite a bit in person. I would say that NoFap was a good idea but genuinely doomed to fail as a community/concept because it just aligned to well with the “masturbation is sin!” Community and the weird self help community. Like yeah I have heard plenty of stories about people who had some pretty severe porn issues and used up tons of money they could ill afford on subscriptions, donations/likes/boosts and more recently onlyfans only to get little satisfaction out of it and have relationship issues because of it. Shit things like out of the blue slapping or choking also became an issue because guys would see that stuff on porn and expect women to enjoy it by default (gives us a bad rap too), and women expecting every man to have a horse cock So nofap which really started as reducing the frequency of jerking off (particularly with the use of porn) or the more popular don’t jerk off for a set amount of time like a week or month became a kinda self help method to break a minor case of porn addiction/overuse. Must have been pretty effective to become as popular as it did though. The problem with NoFap came about as it became popular and thus the vultures of the self help and religious groups started to prey upon communities and individuals by co-opting the message. Religious groups generally don’t actively seek financial gains from their users but instead often just try to warp the message from “less fapping” to “no fapping” since they believe masturbation is sin and shouldn’t be done. Most will typically urge less fapping to the beginners and only really push aggressive messages later on, challenging those who made it a week to last a month and those that last a month to give up jerking it all-together, usually at this stage they also find someone else to go hawk their religion to you since they see that you are convertible. This kind of playbook is basically a copy paste of AA behavior. Self help “gurus” like the now infamous Andrew Tate are actively searching for financial gain and smelled fresh meat since NoFap aligned with the ideas of turning a leaf, being a better self etc and often had members leak into gym and investing communities. They prefer to sell wildly exaggerated claims of what NoFap can do for you usually with a tagalong that such results are better achieved or paired with their product or podcast RE: Your opinion on the NoFap® Movement - Like Ra - 03 Jun 2024 (03 Jun 2024, 14:53 )Lancer Wrote: Self help “gurus” ... are actively searching for financial gain and smelled fresh meatYes!
