Generative AI compiles & "guesses" i.e. makes selections based on the data it has been fed, it does not ever "understand" anything.
I am not a fan of generative AI, not due to the Terminatoresque conspiracy theories, rather due to the implications it will have for the job market and vast number of jobs it will completely eradicate in the service industry and how it can easily be misused for specific financial, political etc gains (hey, why is everyone only buying "x" at "y" or everyone taking their holidays this year on Kiribati?).
