Yes, this is the only one I found too. I wonder if it's indeed just dried root slices. Not an extract, not powder, not capsules. I've read it's quite bitter, so I'm not sure...

It does not look very expensive. I don't know when I can go into town, but if so, I could buy some. It is not very expensive.

"Prices in the store are different than from online." - Hm... higher or lower? The online prices are quite high. They have lots of interesting stuff, though, as always, you have no idea what's in fact you are buying...

Side note: real good Chinese acupuncture always sounds interesting.

The Pros and Cons of Estrogens in Prostate Cancer: An Update with a Focus on Phytoestrogens
https://www.mdpi.com/2227-9059/12/8/1636
https://doi.org/10.3390/biomedicines12081636

Quote:Among all the natural products that have been used in improving human health as either preventive supplements or treatments, phytoestrogens are a class of compounds of particular interest. The relevance of phytoestrogens in human health relies on their wide distribution in several types of plants and fruits and their potent and diverse biological effects. Phytoestrogens have recognized antioxidant, antiproliferative, antiangiogenic, and proapoptotic activity, making them highly attractive for exploitation in the context of anticancer therapy. Furthermore, many epidemiological studies support the protective role of phytoestrogens in malignancy. For example, the incidence of breast and Prostate Cancer (PC) is much lower in Asian people when compared to Westerners. The average daily consumption of phytoestrogens in Asia is estimated to range from 20 to 50 mg, whereas in the United States and Europe, it is predicted to be 0.153 mg and 0.491 mg, respectively. This astonishing difference is justified by the dietary habits of the Asian population, with a plant-based diet and much less consumption of meat and animal-derivative products, and it has been postulated to explain the lower incidence and mortality rates of PCa in Eastern countries.

Flavonoids as Phytoestrogenic Components of Hops and Beer

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7570471/

Quote:The value of hops (Humulus lupulus L.) in beer production has been undisputed for centuries. Hops is rich in humulones and lupulones which gives the characteristic aroma and bitter taste, and preserves this golden drink against growing bacteria and molds. Besides α- and β-acids, the lupulin glands of hop cones excrete prenylated flavonoids, which exhibit a broad spectrum of biological activities and therefore has therapeutic potential in humans. Recently, interest in hops was raised due to hop prenylated flavanones which show extraordinary estrogen activities. The strongest known phytoestrogen so far is 8-prenylnaringenin (8-PN), which along with 6-prenylanaringenin (6-PN), 6,8-diprenylnaringenin (6,8-DPN) and 8-geranylnaringenin (8-GN) are fundamental for the potent estrogen activity of hops. This review provides insight into the unusual hop phytoestrogens and shows numerous health benefits associated with their wide spectrum of biological activities including estrogenic, anticancer, neuropreventive, antinflamatory, and antimicrobial properties, which were intensively studied, and potential applications of these compounds such as, as an alternative to hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

I scanned published articles on Pueraria mirifica, and it turned out, that they are mostly about rats or monkeys. Animal models or in vitro results can not be "blindly" used for humans. There are very few small randomized clinical trials on PM, what, in fact, does not say much. PM effects on men were not studied, only "assumed".

RCTs on Saw Palmetto showed no effects at all.

What means... You are on your own ... as always .... 😅
