Thanks all! I really appreciate this!

The dear ones become parts of our own body, and when they disappear, they get replaced by phantom pains.

Our cat had a very distinctive and very delicate personality. At the same time, he was a warrior in Castaneda's sense. Never complained, even when he had very valid reasons to, he tried to solve all the problems by himself, AND not at the expense of others. We found him in the park 13 years ago. An adult stray (but castrated) cat, living off mice during a very cold, snowy and frosty winter. We said "Meouw", and ... suddenly the cat had an emotional breakdown... I ran back home to get some food, then we invited him to our house. He agreed ...

Much later, we discovered that he had broken bones. Hit by a car? People? He trusted us, we trusted him. A very wise cat, he amazed us many times...

Yet again (again and again) we feel a guilt of not giving to those, who passed away, more of what they enjoyed or even asked for, when we still could. Sounds familiar, right?

And then... Being ultimately responsible for deciding if the level of suffering is high enough to ask for a deadly injection ...

Oh my ... I'm crying again ...

We donated his body to the university, so he could save the life of a proof animal, and potentially lives of many more creatures.

(I'm so sorry about your cat, Ra.)

casually changing my avatar for even less traceability lol

Not that the old one was particularly traceable, but this is just some random image I found on Reddit now.

My condolences with the loss of your cat.
My wife and I have three cats;

2 of them we raised from day 1 since their mother abandoned them. Unfortunately, the male kitten who seemed to shape up as the strongest most athletic one became epileptic. He's also gone near-blind and his balance is terrible due to either brain and/or nerve damage.

But the real sad story is the death of the cat of our neighbour friends, who was poisoned with ratpoison by human hands - probably as a result of a wellknown community dispute.

sorry to hear about your kitty 😟

Sorry to hear.

Our cat is 17 years old now, completely deaf after surviving an infection in her brain last year so she requires a lot more care and wakes us up every night because she can't get in the chair she wants to sleep in etc. It's going to hurt when she's gone.

Not related to bondage, or maybe it is….

Look at the picture. Notice anything??

That is a worryingly slanted electrical pole, I doubt tying it to the lamppost is according to the rules but replacing the concrete takes longer so I would do that in the short term too.

Yea, by the way that rope looks, it’s been that way for quite a long time.
