Not really my thing but I must say he's keen, he's now cosplayed all six of her sisters.

Nothing new, but as it's raining and I was at a loose end I made a collage of my favourite cosplays by decade.
The eighties and nineties were the hardest to chose favourites for, so many costumes just missed out.

Cosplay is usually in a convention scenario or at least some fanbase gathering of sorts,
These are public space scenarios, so you shouldn't cross a certain line with your costume or behaviour. Ergo; Cosplay = None-fetish.

Of course, I was exaggerating it for the sake of 'safety'.
Plenty of places where certain costumes will
cause increased risk of public indecency offence, outside of convention grounds.

Conventions have 'Terms of Participation' (or similar) in their T&Cs which will include what dress and behaviour is and isn't acceptable. For example, for the London Olympia Comicon Spring 2025 these are the rules.
Quote:Indecency
- If your cosplay is deemed to be offensive to the casual observer it will not be allowed inside the event
- Many members of the public find weapons offensive – When traveling to and from the venue or simply relaxing outside be mindful that not everyone knows about cosplay. Realistic props could cause worry or concern for the safety of the public. Please keep ALL props covered and stowed away at these times, this is also for your own benefit as it could stop unnecessary interaction with police.
- Consider the “social media” test – if you were photographed and the image went viral, would the general public be offended by your outfit. If the answer is yes then do not bring your costume to the event
- This also applies to offensive behaviour once inside the event. This includes but is not limited to:
- Touching other attendees (and their costumes) without consent
- Aggressive behaviour towards other attendees
- Aggressive behaviour towards crew
- Inappropriate gestures and poses
- Inappropriate comments
- Excessive swearing
