A problem I find with wearing corsets is with the strips with the eyeholes where the laces go (there must be a technical name for them 😊  ) If the corset is designed for a woman they never seem to sit properly parallel on a male torso. Here's what I mean, I just find it annoyingly unaesthetic.

Those are the lacing bones, but they are actually not responsible for that V shape. That would be the patterns of the panels. Women's rib cages are proportionally smaller so they absolutely need that upper part to be smaller in order to fit their shapes. Men's shape aren't actually that different, it's just that upper part that is bigger in size to accommodate for the rib cage.

Orchid Corsetry is one of the very few stores that offers feminine corsets for men, but they are very costly T__T

Lucy's Corsetry channel explains it very well.

A few years ago I made myself a few corsets. I bought some patterns, but it is very clear they need quite some extrapolation for the male shape. Specially when you have quite a belly. In all it was fun, but since my belly has increased considerably, they are not nearly as comfortable now. Maybe I have to go back to the sewing machine.
Corset sizing....

Further to the lasting shame of 'corsetgate'  I did eventually get my red corset on the right way round, however @d7i wondered about the sizing and if I'd brough a size (or more) too large.

.
[attachment=63214] - I've generally used this chart when purchasing a corset.

At the time I brought the red corset I was an honest 36" (~92cm) waist (still not much less now, despite trying to get back into my healthier living).

I say honest because I can still, just, squeeze into some old 32" waist jeans and more comfortably wear 34" waist clothing.

The corset is generally tight, so I'm not sure if I'm wearing it too high/low on my body or if as  @d7i says a smaller corset would provide an overall better fit and look?

This is a shorter 'waist cinch' style corset, which I did buy as size 'L'

But I can't see that a full length corset in this size would fit my rib cage??

Open to comments and suggestions, or, better still, real experiences with corset size - which may influence my next purchase.

. . .

Is this corset coming from https://www.ebay.com/str/corsetsstore ?

I can't clearly see the corset on this photo, but I can still see that it fits you much better over the hips. The bottom of the corset is not standing out like this longer red corset from corsetgate, but is following your curves. In my opinion, you have laced this corset too tight around your waist. If you like the feeling of being cut in half then it's totally fine as it is up to you, but if you are looking for an hourglass figure, then you should smooth the curve a bit - without that sharp angle at your waist. (I have just realized that hourglass has this sharp cut and super narrow wait, so let's better call it a figure like Coca-Cola bottle, which is more achievable by humans). This corset on the photo may be laced too tight for that.

When buying the next corset, please consider Corset Story, as I have recommended in my other post. It may be cut in totally different way then your current corsets and may be laying on your body in completely other way. Maybe better, maybe worse - you have to check.

If you can lace your corset so tight that ends meet, then the corset is too small. Also, do not expect that a corset made for female body will have the space between ends equal from top to bottom when worn by male. If you would do that you will crush your chest but have it stick out from your hips.

If you are going for a figure, consider some hip padding. It helps a lot to have smooth curve from legs, over hips and through the waist.

Here is some video that I have found on my disk just today with unusual lacing (Could be a start to lock yourself in a corset):

And here is me trying some hip pads with underbust corset worn under clothing (I don't have a mirror, so I have to film myself each time I try something new):

BTW this video "SHAPE OF YOUR CORSET GAP" in a post above is worth watching.
I've been considering this men's leather corset-vest from Leatherotics:

Does anyone else have one of these?  I'm wondering about the quality and overall aesthetics.  Is it as awesome as it looks.  Or, is it junk?  I have purchased items from Leatherotics before, and have been happy with the quality.  But, that was a few years ago.

Really, I've been procrastinating on this one for a couple/few years.  One is justifying the expense, when I would only ever wear it around the house.  The club scene and fetish events appear to be no-more.  Still, it would be a nice item to have, and it could help to tame the spare tire.

The real question though, is how to get it laced properly.  With a simple waist-cincher, the laces are all in the same area, and one only needs to tug on the bunny-ears.  This one though, has laces all the way down the back.  So, someone would need to help me.  I really don't have anyone to ask.  Is there another way to get it tightened/adjusted properly?
Anyone game to try this one?:

I realize that this image is a repeat from EOTD.  I just felt that it should also appear here, for reference purposes.
