Groan, Merriam-Webster is an American dictionary, cf the first pronounciation given by the Oxford English Dictionary which (so far as I can tell) is essentially
tur-KwArse.
You'd be regarded as more than bit of pretentious knob if you actually pronounced it that way anywhere in the UK outside of central/western London though 😉 Nearly forty years ago I just happened to have be taught French by a woman who had a bug about this word/
Meh, I'm going with 'the French Way' too. One, because I'm a Remainer, and two, because I generally quite like the French anyway 😊
