Replacement for HypnoDB?

7 Replies, 1089 Views

Hi guys I'm new here and I am quite happy to see an active hypno community.

I was wondering if there were any replacements for HypnoDB as the site has been inactive for 5 years now. I have a big interest in hypno but finding new content and tagging/organising existing content for my media server is inconvenient without some sort of main metadata database.

If there are any replacements or any projects in the works please let me know as I am happy to contribute.

This forum has actually been a good experience for finding new files and hypnotists to listen to through reading user recommendations and chats although the forum format isn't the most optimal for this kind of task I don't think.

It's a web-server. You can install any application on it. Also, inventory, library, collection management systems.

Yeah I knew that, my interest was with your ideas.

I have been researching possible solutions the past few weeks as I intended to create and host an alternative if one didn't aeady exist (be the change you want to see and all that) but I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing any projects before undertaking my own.

I have a feeling there aren't any alternatives I missed and I will be learning lots more about the musicbrainz backend soon though...

Ahh, I see now... Yes, indeed, it's very smart to ask around first!

Yes, or IMDB.
