What happened with "Insex"?
There is a movie (that I haven't seen) that documents the rise and fall of Insex called "Graphic Sexual Horror". In essence, the Department of Homeland Security used dubious expansion of anti-terrorisim laws to go after Insex. It includes interviews with all the key players including the founder of Insex, Brent (PD) Scott. From IMDB, a short bio of Scott includes:
"No, see, it’s educational, not exploitive: -If you won't allow me to teach your children, then I will corrupt them"- Brent Pd Scott, Creator of Insex.Com. In 1997, a former professor at Carnegie-Mellon University started a phenomena. The website he created, Insex.Com, was devoted to bondage, fetish and sadomasochistic scenarios. By the time the site was shut down by the Department of Homeland Security, it had 35,000 members who paid $60.00 per month to view its content. An often raw and shocking documentary, Graphic Sexual Horror is a fascinating look at the rise and fall of the world's most notorious violent porn website and an exploration into the dark mind of its artistic creator, Brent Scott (aka Pd). -Containing original Insex.Com behind-the-scenes footage and candid interviews with Pd, the models, members and staff, this film almost dares you to watch, assaulting the eyes from its opening frames with violent images of moaning...

I've just checked it too, and it looks like insex.com is owned by intersecinteractive.com (both are registered in New-York), which is owned by PD, Matt Williams and Jack Hammer, who are still making new stuff and looking for models. Here's the list of their sites:
InfernalRestraints.com Innovative Original Device Bondage with Wood - Steel - Leather - Latex HardTied.com Unique & Amazing Rope Bondage and BDSM Games SexuallyBroken.com Bondage & Rough Sex TopGrl.com Technical Female Top & Fem Dom Elise Graves Torments Girls RealTimeBondage.com Live Streaming HD Bondage Live Shows - Real Time - Live Voting KinksterCash.com Our Adult Webmaster BDSM Affiliate Program - The Newest & Best! InsexArchives.com The Source of Where it all began - INSEX.COM! So, I must say, insex.com is very alive.

Thanks for the updated information, I was just going on Wiki history information.
I hope Hydroglove can be likewise resurrected but given that they were a manufacturer of products, I am not hopeful. We shall see.

Well, Hydroglove seem to be on the rebound. The manufacturing equipment was purchased by a new owner and moved to a different state. They have a bare-bones web presence right now at Hydroglove.net. There isn't much there but it bodes well for the future. Also, there is a category for "Women's Fashion" items but with no products shown yet. Stay tuned.
