Another one involving an electric outlet timer could be to have a hairdryer sitting on a counter/table with the keys in front of it and when it turns on, it blows the keys off, onto the floor. You'd have to make sure the hair dryer is strong enough/keys are light enough to be blown though. If this alone can't blow the keys, maybe you could attach the key to something lightweight with more surface area like a piece of paper to act as a sail. Though you wouldn't be able to do this one at night in a hotel, as people in other rooms near you might complain that someone is being noisy with a hair dryer. During the morning or day would work though.
Just get one of those timer padlocks. It's so much simpler to use. No setup, no cleanup.
You can use a kitchen safe or some other timed locking mechanism.
You can use a combination lock and use darkness as your means of not being able to unlock it until morning or use a light timer (but that means all the light switches have to be out of reach) I like personal travel safes for this because it also serves a practical purpose. My personal preference is an Easter egg hunt. There's two ways to do this: You can use a series of locking boxes, each keyed different and each containing the key for the next locking box or you could set up a specific order or randomize so each new key you get has to be tried on every box until you get the right one. You can also use one locking box and many different keys, each one inside a plastic egg. Secure the locking box somewhere so it can't be moved around. Find each egg and bring it back to the box to try unlocking it. (21 Aug 2022, 04:50 )Max515 Wrote: Just get one of those timer padlocks. It's so much simpler to use. No setup, no cleanup.Exactly. Daisy chain them, if you do not trust them https://www.likera.com/sb/tech/twolocks1.php
I like the egg idea.
