First try of using an inflatable mattress for self-bondage

As the title says, I got an inflatable mattress. This one has a build in pump so it inflates itself. This is my first try in using for self-bondage. I used an ice lock for release but unfortunately I was able to reach a knot and got out early. The mattress itself is promising, I just need to keep the knots out of reach.

If everything goes as planned I'll be doing a lot of self-bondage this week, I'm taking requests! Please keep the requests simple, as in no elaborate schemes where everything is written out in maximum detail. I'm talking outfits or positions or other things I can do without weeks of preparation.

Attempt number two!

This one worked great, had to wait for the ice lock to release before I got out.

I used pad locks for almost everything so no knots in reach that I could undo. There was one where I made a loop to connect to the ice lock but it had so much tension on it that there was no way I could undo that. This turned out to be a fortunate "mistake" because when the ice lock released I was still padlocked to everything and could only escape by undoing that knot, then the following and the following and so on.

Now for the technical bit:

You need to have two bars or rods or tubes or whatever that are as far apart as the mattress is wide. Tie those together and put the mattress on them. You'll need to use these tubes to tie the anchor points for hands and feet. Everything you tie around or under and over the mattress will shift and if it doesn't shift then you will be able to create quite some slack on them as the mattress is squishy. Basically you tie yourself spread eagle to these points when the mattress is flat, inflating the mattress will lift you up and pull everything tight. When done right there is no escaping this. The mattress I used is around 40 cm high when inflated, that takes a lot of slack out of the ropes.

What happens when there is no slack left, but the mattress is still being inflated?

Nothing spectacular, if you did individual ropes from lets say your ankles to the tubes on the side it will start pulling real hard and pull your legs open. Of course, you can stop this from becoming painful by just switching off the pump. For my wrists, I had this rope attached to both tubes with loops where I wanted to secure my wrists. This rope will get pulled really tight and start digging into the mattress without putting any strain on your wrists.

I guess making the ropes too short and fully inflating the mattress might damage the mattress, especially if you start trashing around. Maybe damage to the mattress might be prevented by putting a blanket over it.

All in all this was one of the easiest methods of self-bondage I've tried in a long time and there is still a lot of room for experimentation left. You'll need a thick inflatable mattress (with build in pump), around 40 cm is common, and two lengths of PVC tubing or wood or similar (I used one long cardboard tube on one side and a 220cm barbell as that's what I had lying around). It's definitely worth it 😊.

As a bonus: when inflating the zones around your body get inflated first, giving you a nice hug, and it feels like something organic is closing around you, like you are getting absorbed by something. Then you start feeling some tension on the ropes as an appetizer before you get lifted off the ground and after a few seconds of floating the mattress stiffens up, and you're stuck. If you used the two tubes or bars on the sides there is no slack at all safe for the few cm you can pull against the mattress. This requires quite a lot of force for only a few cm, and it bounces right back when you relax.
