Being ‘tied up’ means different things to anyone who practises bondage or self-bondage, because there so many ways you can rope, chain strap, tape or otherwise render a willing person (including yourself!) immobile.

However, when you take away the material variables (rope, chains, etc.) there are only two real options:

1. You are tied to an object, such as a bed, chair, bench, ceiling, car, frame, pole,,,, the list is almost endless and in my experience bondage lovers are a very inventive crowd!

or

2. You are simply tied up by the ropes, straps, chains, whatever, are around your body only.

From my own experiences both approaches have their own appeals;

Tied Up - being in a nice and tight hogtie, but ‘free’ to roll around is a wonderful experience and offers all sorts of fun in how you gain your freedom (or enjoy your helplessness). Building any sort of struggle to freedom into my self-bondage is a big turn-on, though I am by no means a great exponent of this style. I do love the opportunity to thrash around and try to stimulate myself whilst bound like this – the orgasms can be awesome!

Tied To – if immobility is your desire then I think this is probably the ultimate option. There is something deep inside me that tingles with excitement when I am bound to an immovable object. Unlike being tied up, once I’m lashed/chained/taped/strapped into place there is no freedom until the timer has run its course, no stimulation (unless I’ve set it up in advance and sometimes not even then!) – This one is almost always about true helplessness.

I have no problem buying stuff online. I buy shoes online all the time. The problem with ballet boots is that they are a) super expensive, given that b) you will probably break your leg if they don't fit right, and c) return policies are generally dodgy at best.

So, I am looking for recommendations, hopefully on stores and brands, but just brand is OK. Amazon has an interestingly large collection, but none of them really have useful reviews. I just don't want to shell out $175 for something that is just going to cripple me for life.

If you want an idea generally of the features I'm looking for, I'm thinking laces and to a length of just above the ankle (support & safety reasons). So, no pumps with an ankle strap, because even though that looks hot, I do not trust that I could walk 12 steps without going all Joe Theismann. Knee and thigh length are also hot, but they would have the unfortunate visual effect of making my legs look shorter than they already are. The locks on the ones in the picture are just great. And, black color; whether they be leather or patent...as long as it isn't some cheapo pleather that is going to rip or tear within a week.

Sorry it took such a long time... but here's a few photos that should give folks the idea.

2. Materials required are 20mm leather belt strips, two part 4-5mm metal rivets, press stud fastenings, 40-60mm diameter hard rubber ball, "Kong" classic pet toy (http://www.kongcompany.com/), short piece of broom handle, bicycle handle bar grip, 2xscrew eyelets, D-ring, 3xmetal rings, 3x20mm metal buckles.

3. Using the metal rivets to join the leather is straight forward enough and requires the hole punch to create the holes, and the rivet punch and small anvil (can be bought cheaply with the rivets). Make the holes in the leather strap with the hole punch and hammer, insert top and bottom half of the rivets in the holes, place carefully together over the small dished anvil and using the rivet punch fasten together with a sharp tap of the hammer (experiment with some scrap pieces first to get good at this).

4. I simply copied the design of the harness gag off the internet using the many pictures available (try not to get too distracted in your research!) and then used my own head to create the dimensions. I started with the metal ring at the forehead and joined this to two further metal rings with short lengths of leather strap and rivets (the length will depend on your face/head/nose/mouth so best use your own features as a template) so that the two additional rings sit at either side of your mouth.

5. I then added the straps and buckle under my chin (allow sufficient length on the none buckle strap with plenty of holes to give required adjustment for tightening).

6. I then added the strap going over the head and added a D-ring at the top (possible restraint point!) and a buckle. To this I added a strap with a simple loop at the end and plenty of holes for adjustment (the loop is to thread the side straps through at the back of the head).

7. I then added the side straps... one long with no buckle and plenty of those holes for adjustment/tightening, and one short with the buckle on. This allows fastening/tightening at the side of the head.

8. Finally I created 3 interchangeable gags depending on mood and scenario: a simple bit gag made from a short piece of broom handle covered in a bicycle handle bar grip with a screw eyelet inserted either end (the pet store chew toy version didn't work so well), a simple ball gag (50mm diameter), and (my favourite) the "Kong" pet toy. The latter is about 60mm max diameter and about 100mm long (or is that deep?) and fills my mouth up really nicely, with the added advantage of a being hollow to aid easy breathing. All three can be easily added/changed using simple press studs. I'll probably add a ring gag at some point when I find a suitable diameter metal ring.

Equipment:

70den closed crotch nylon bodysuit with sheath
15den sheer pantyhose
20den sheer pantyhose
8 knee-highs
Large butt plug
High-heeled ankle boots
Black Lycra body
Black nylon slip
Rope
Condom
Large ball for gag

The session:

My inspiration for this session came from the image I use as my avatar (and yes, it is me) and the realisation that I’d not done a session like that for a long time. All my most recent sessions have been about vacuum bags or being bound, immovably, to something solid (like a bed, chairs or stool) and not about the sensation of being bound but also being able to move around. Whilst looking at my avatar I realised that the simple (or, in my case, complex) hogtie was something I hadn’t properly attempted in years, so my mind was set to re-create one of my older sessions.

The gear all ready to go – closed crotch bodysuit for that super (almost fully) encased feeling, with pantyhose to add more layer son my legs and knee-highs for my head and arms/hands. Lots of rope, a gag (used inside a knee-high) and a butt plug (of course!), a black body and slip, plus my high-heeled boots to add some glamour.

Legs tied and getting set – all dressed up and legs tightly tied, I’m balancing on the bed and working out the rest of my bondage. The gag is in place and my head is already covered in 3 layers of tight nylon.

Pre-prepared mega-coils of rope – hmmm, I may have gone over the top with my chest ropes, but the rope was there so I used it…all!

Last minute finessing or should that be fiddling? As always, no matter how much a plan a session there are always some elements that get changed at the last minute, either to improve the set-up or to overcome some unexpected problem. The addition of two layers of tight nylon mittens on each of my hands is not helping… but is super sexy fun!

Deep breaths and ready to go – the rope coils are already tightly holding my wrists together, but there is also a rope that passes from my bound ankles, under a waist rope, which will cinch those wrist coils even tighter as my legs automatically straighten out when I fall forwards.

Going, going, gone! – I fall forwards into my bondage. I can’t help but straighten my legs and the devious rope does it’s very best to drag my helpless wrists tightly up to the waist rope. With every muscle in my body tensed for crash-landing all the ropes are biting hard into my flesh. It feels wonderful.

What went well?

Being ‘tied up’ and not ‘tied to’ – it has been such a long time since I was simply ‘tied up’ I had forgotten how good it felt to be able to writhe around in bondage. I will by doing more of this type of self-bondage as soon as I can (and will be posting a separate thread on this subject)

Extra ‘feminine’ clothing – I hadn’t worn the slip for a long time and the feeling of my nylon encased body rubbing against the silky fabric was a real delight.., I must do that again too! BlushBig Grin

What could be improved?

Too easy to escape – I knew my helplessness would not be ‘enforced’ by some timed release, but once I was bound it was too easy to escape when deep down I didn’t want to be able to. Why this happens I never quite understand; I am not strong willed enough to simply stay in my bondage for longer, I must escape… but when I do it an anti-climax and I feel cheated. How odd is that? HuhHuh

A neat and simple way to enforce my bondage when tied up (not tied ‘to’). I want to stay bound until something other than my hands free me – how do I do that? Ice-locks/cubes would work but are (I think) messy and cumbersome for this type of session (I want to free to roll around, but not get soaking wet or jabbed in the back by blocks of ice). Handcuffs are ok, but I don’t find them very sexy to wear, they hurt more than rope and aren’t snug/tight in the way I like. Any ideas? Huh

More cameras and video postings – I’m playing around with some video editing software and given time will post some true ‘action shots’. I’m also looking for higher quality (HD) webcam options… any suggestions or recommendations for cheap but good kit?
