RE: Site performance, Server errors, outages and tunings - Like Ra - 21 Oct 2015 (21 Oct 2015, 15:04 )madjack Wrote: I can access the site via my mobile but NOT login...For some strange reason I can't login using mobile Firefox. Mobile Chrome works fine. RE: Site performance, Server errors, outages and tunings - Like Ra - 21 Oct 2015 OK, here's a quick workaround for the "garbage on the screen" problem. o- Go to "User CP -> Edit Options -> Thread View Options -> Posts Per Page http://www.likera.com/forum/mybb/usercp.php?action=options o- Choose "5 posts per page" o- Click "Update options" That should work, but the amount of pages per thread will be doubled. RE: Site performance, Server errors, outages and tunings - madjack - 21 Oct 2015 Hey - the workaround seems to work! 😁 Looking good Ra, looking good. I'll try some 'stress testing' if I get the chance this week.... Thanks for the tech support MJ RE: Site performance, Server errors, outages and tunings - Like Ra - 21 Oct 2015 (21 Oct 2015, 22:13 )madjack Wrote: Hey - the workaround seems to work! I see at least one correlation between garbage and PageSpeed processing - the pages that are left untouched by PageSpeed look corrupted in some cases. OTOH, it's also related to something else, because only several people experience this issue. Ideally, the next step would be to capture the traffic on both the server and the PC (e.g. using tcpdump or wireshark) and compare the results. Apparently not only this site was experiencing frequent crashes 😁 RE: Site performance, Server errors, outages and tunings - herrpee - 22 Oct 2015 I use Eset, latest version. But indeed it seems to be the same thread and only when you press latest post. RE: Site performance, Server errors, outages and tunings - Like Ra - 28 Oct 2015 I'm upgrading the OS. Expect outages. RE: Site performance, Server errors, outages and tunings - Like Ra - 28 Oct 2015 Upgraded Ubuntu to 15.10. Kernel is 4.2 now. Apache moved to 2.4.12 (the latest is 2.4.17). Let's see how it works... RE: Site performance, Server errors, outages and tunings - Like Ra - 28 Oct 2015 I went ahead and installed 2.4.17. The thread in question is still not processed with mod_pagespeed. Increasing the amount of Apache threads dedicated to optimization did nit help either. The quest continues 😁 RE: Site performance, Server errors, outages and tunings - Like Ra - 29 Oct 2015 MyBB developers agreed that this forum software is extremely picture inefficient: http://community.mybb.com/thread-169789.html But it will be changed only in the next release (v2.0), which is way too far. Since viewing thumbnails is publicly allowed, I wonder if changing some core files can make the forum much more efficient, PageSpeed and cache friendly. Meanwhile... @madjack, @herrpee - can you check http://www.likera.com/forum/mybb/Thread-Pantyhose-encasement?page=11 again (with 10 post per page settings). Still the same? The HTML code looks the same to me, but the internal processing might be changed. |
