Kinky (and not so) home automation - Like Ra - 14 Feb 2023

You can use home automation for various purposes. And you can combine them. So, the thread can be posted in "Self-bondage", "Bondage", "Hypnosis", and "Off-Topic" (at least). But let's keep is here for the time being. Also, because this thread was about remotely controlled self-bondage padlocks: https://www.likera.com/forum/mybb/showthread.php?tid=3805

Just to list some possibilities:

o- timed self-bondage
o- providing fun and punishment during self-bondage
o- ... when the time and types of "fun" are based on various criteria:
  - your historical behaviour
  - type of clothes you are/were wearing (image recognition)
  - type of your voice (sissies must speak in female voice - sound recognition)
  - what hypno you are/were listening
- the colour of your nails
  - the temperature inside/outside
  - the noise inside/outside
  - your posts in this forum
  - votes for your predicament
o- advices (requirements!) what to buy and wear
o- integration with AI chats. AI image generators and machine learning
o- you will be not sure, what you will be listening to while sleeping ...
o- vanilla purposes
  - power consumption of home devices
  - temperature monitoring
  - automatic counters (e.g. time counter)
  - fitness

Et cetera, et cetera ...

Got the idea?

So... Let's start with the smart hubs. Tuya compatible? Anything else? Any tips? I'm investigating Aliexpress...

What do you guys think about https://www.domoticz.com/ ? Can be run anywhere, is free, and compatible with everything?

Can it run on a Pi? 😊

It can 😊 although they don't list arm build status on their GitHub for whatever reason. They do have an install guide for RPI on their site

Ah, very nice, thank you!
I'm not too deep into home automation, but at least I own an Ikea Tradfri and several Pi's, so maybe at some point I replace the Tradfri with something else. At the moment I've got just a couple of RGB lightbulbs coupled.

I just got the HomeAssist SkyConnect Stick - https://www.home-assistant.io/skyconnect/

Works fine with this Tuya Zigbee Plug I ordered as a test from Ali:https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DmxR5lR
Also got this ZigBee Door Sensor: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DcvQGo1

So the Pi and the Home Assistant Installation uses the Stick as Hub. Maybe there can be made some combinations with the sensor, the plug and an electronic magnet. Have to think about a setting. Maybe closing the sensor switches the plug off and a key falls down.

Finally, something for a Pi? (Side note: I wonder if I can run Retroshare on a Pi). So far, I could not find any useful application for Pi-like microcomputers. But with the current energy prices they become more interesting.

On one Pi I've got PiHole running, and on another one my personal Nextcloud.
