Here's a clip from 1988 of Janet Street Porter (at the time I think she was Head of BBC Yoof Programming, later to be editor of 'The Independent', long-distance walker and all-round existentialist) in a rubber miniskirt and semi-sheer black tights. Sadly it doesn't include the bit where Russell Harty (seated to her right) mentions her 'plastic' skirt and she says 'Nahhhh, it's rubber'. The best shots of the skirt are near the beginning but IM(NS)HO Vivienne Westwood is an under-appreciated national treasure anyway so stay with it if you can... |
