When I first saw these advertisements I thought of a some kind of bondage devices to keep the kids (or their hands) in place. And when my eyes quickly scanned the descriptions (apparently missing some words) they appeared to be even more misleading:

Straps, braces, buckles, body harnesses, stockings … “Wow!”, I thought, “looks like the Sweet Gwendoline’s training! Did I miss this fetish bondage experience in my childhood?”

Unlike Germany, in The Netherlands Tanzmarie is more a kids costume. The Dutch philosophy is a bit different. Choreography is, say, less sophisticated, the discipline is pretty much non-existent, less requirements and more participation.

If a kid wants to be dressed pretty and “participate” – sure, go for it. It does not matter what you can do, it’s the mood and willingness what counts. Parents love their kids regardless their talents, right? Especially if they are happy and look cute. (No. I do not think that everybody will be pleased with the performance).

The first carnival “wave” is over. Unfortunately, I missed this event hence using some photos found on the Internet.

What makes this carnival interesting (for me, at least) is the Tanzmarie costume – short dress with very shiny special Tanzmariechen pantyhose, worn by kids, girls (big kids), women and … men.

On the TV? I think most will say – the TV. This is another example of a very erotic (in my opinion) bondage scene in an absolutely innocent fairy tale called “Morozko” (Frost), when a beautiful girl was kidnapped and bound to a tree by a gang of robbers.

And this is what this forum thread is about: bondage in TV series.

While the definition of the word “fetish” is pretty much “standard”, the actual meaning is different and individual for every person. Any object or activity can become a fetish one. It can be shopping, driving, jogging, wearing fur, high heels, latex, collecting stamps, match boxes, vintage cars. But then a strange thing happens. This strange thing is called “public opinion”, or PO.

PO decides what is appropriate and what is not. PO decided, that wool and cotton are appropriate, but latex and leather are not. PO decided that some materials and clothes are appropriate for women and some for men. PO decides what clothes are appropriate for what time and place.

As you can see there is absolutely no logic here. Just as there is mostly no logic in “public opinion” or “morality” (See also the “children pornography” post).

Just like pantyhose, one piece swimsuits were one one my earliest fetishes since I was 6 or something. So probably my meaning is biased. (Ha! Like I care!). During shopping with my parents or grandparents in the late 70’s I remember myself looking for swimsuits hanging on racks. But despite I could easily touch them, they were way out of my reach. I love bondage bags (aka bodybags, latex sleeping bags or sacks, mummifying bags, etc) since my early childhood (5-7yo). I must admit it’s quite strange for a small kid (and I don’t care why! psychoanalysts shut up!), but I often imagined myself bound in a sack (in pantyhose and swimsuit(s)/leotard(s), of course!) with only my head sticking out (or head’s inside as well). Well, I can buy them now and I have got one I use from time to time. It’s a plain rectangle loose latex bag with a zipper you can close from inside (by sticking your arm and then just finger outside). Nothing complicated. Just like a “vanilla” sleeping bag.

Of course, you can buy inflatable, form fitting, with internal sleeves, with built-in hood and gag, etc, this is all known stuff, but can you imagine something different? What can be different you may ask? It’s just a big condom with a zipper!
